The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe continued its 2026 season at Automotodrom Brno for Round 5. The 5.403-kilometre circuit once again received very positive feedback from the drivers, with its flowing layout and significant elevation changes providing a challenging but enjoyable experience.

The weekend was held together with Porsche Czech Republic, which organised its Porsche Festival including a Porsche Experience with guided driving sessions on track. The two programmes complemented each other perfectly and attracted around 2,500 visitors over the weekend, creating a fantastic atmosphere around the circuit. With 21 drivers from nine different nations, including a particularly strong Czech presence, the international character of the PSCCE was once again clearly visible.

Conditions also offered some variety. Light rain showers on Thursday gave several teams the opportunity to gain valuable experience on rain tires, before the weather improved significantly. Race day itself was greeted by beautiful sunshine and dry track conditions.

Qualifying belonged to Markus Kajak, who secured pole position for both Sprint races ahead of championship leader Matyas Faiereisl. The Estonian set the pace throughout both sessions, preparing the stage for another close battle between the two title contenders.

Faiereisl made the better start in Sprint Race 1 and took the lead through the opening corners. Kajak remained close, however, and soon found his way back past the Czech driver to reclaim first position. From there, the Dream 2 Drive driver held on to secure victory by just 1.108 seconds. Faiereisl finished second, while Tautvydas Rudokas showed an excellent performance to take third overall and victory in the AM category. Milan Sitniansky won ProAM, while Audrius Piktys claimed Masters honours.

Kajak continued his strong weekend in Sprint Race 2, converting pole position into another overall victory. Faiereisl finished second, while Ivan Peklin completed the podium for GTSPORTS. Mantas Janavicius secured the ProAM victory, Rudokas completed a perfect Sprint weekend in AM and Piktys also celebrated his second Masters win of the day.

The “100 Miles of Czech Republic” race provided another successful race for Kajak, who completed an outstanding weekend with the overall Endurance victory. Matyas Faiereisl and Richard Gonda finished second for Senkyr Motorsport, while Audrius Piktys and Tautvydas Rudokas delivered a remarkable performance for Porsche Lietuva Racing, finishing third overall and winning the eAM category. Pavel Bouška and Erik Janis took victory in eProAM, while Herbert Karrer topped the eMasters classification.

With only one round remaining, the championship battle is perfectly set for the season finale. Faiereisl leads the Sprint standings with 110 points, just ten ahead of Kajak, while Mantas Janavicius remains third on 91 points. In Endurance, the fight could hardly be closer, with Faiereisl and Kajak heading to the final round level on 90 points.

After a successful weekend combining great weather, enthusiastic spectators and close racing, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe now looks forward to the final round of the 2026 season at the Hungaroring.
