The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe returned from its summer break for Round 4 at Automotodrom Grobnik in Croatia. Great weather conditions throughout the event provided ideal circumstances for plenty of running on a consistently dry track, while the demanding 4.168-kilometre circuit received very positive feedback from the drivers.

A special highlight of the weekend came away from the racing action, as Porsche AG joined the event to support the presentation of the new Porsche 911 Challenge in front of PSCCE drivers and teams. The presentation was followed by a technical session covering the car’s specifications and a Q&A, while Team Managers also had the opportunity to experience the new car on track.

The international character of the series was once again clearly visible, with 10 nationalities represented on the grid. Local driver Martin Kodrić added Croatian representation and immediately impressed by securing pole position for Sprint Race 1 ahead of Matyas Faiereisl and Markus Kajak. For Race 2, Kajak claimed pole ahead of Faiereisl and Dawid Babraj.

Race 1 produced an exciting fight at the front. Kodrić initially lost positions to the two young championship contenders during the opening lap, but fought his way back into second place ahead of Faiereisl. Markus Kajak ultimately secured victory for Dream 2 Drive, only 0.348 seconds ahead of the Croatian, with Faiereisl completing the podium. Mantas Janavicius won the ProAM category, Tautvydas Rudokas topped AM and Audrius Piktys claimed the Masters victory.

Kajak continued his strong weekend in Sprint Race 2 and converted pole position into another overall victory. Faiereisl finished just 1.208 seconds behind in second place, while Polish rookie Dawid Babraj completed the podium. Andrii Yefimenko took the ProAM victory, Rudokas again came out on top in AM and Piktys completed a double Masters success.

The “100 Miles of Croatia” concluded the weekend with another victory for Dream 2 Drive. Tauras Tunyla and Markus Kajak secured the overall Endurance win ahead of Faiereisl, while Marius Bartkus and Mantas Janavicius finished third overall and won the ProAM category. Andrii Yefimenko claimed the AM victory, while Günter Benninger topped the Masters classification.

After four rounds, the championship battle remains extremely close. Matyas Faiereisl continues to lead the Sprint standings with 90 points, followed by Markus Kajak on 75 and Mantas Janavicius on 74. Faiereisl also leads the Endurance standings with 70 points, only four ahead of Bartkus and Janavicius and five ahead of Kajak.

Following an action-packed weekend combining close racing with an exciting look at the future of Porsche one-make competition, the Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe now looks forward to Round 5 at Automotodrom Brno.
