Markus Kajak Crowned 2026 PSCCE Champion at Hungaroring

The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe concluded its 2026 season with an exciting finale at the Hungaroring in Hungary. Drivers and teams enjoyed the impressive new facilities of the Formula 1 venue, while beautiful weather and dry track conditions provided ideal circumstances for the final races of the year.

Held together with the Histo Cup, the event created a great atmosphere in the paddock and attracted numerous Porsche and motorsport fans throughout the weekend. A total of 23 drivers from nine nations once again underlined the international character of the championship.

The championship battle received an unexpected twist already in qualifying. Markus Kajak was disqualified following the technical checks after his car was found to be outside the required technical specifications. As a result, he had to start from the back of the grid, while Matyas Faiereisl secured pole position for both Sprint Races.

Race 1 therefore provided the perfect setting for an exciting championship showdown. Starting from the last row, Kajak delivered an impressive opening lap and already climbed into second place. From there, the Dream 2 Drive driver continued to pressure championship rival Faiereisl all the way to the chequered flag. Faiereisl took the victory, but Kajak finished just 0.431 seconds behind and secured the 2026 Sprint championship title with his remarkable recovery drive. Tautvydas Rudokas completed the overall podium and won the AM category, while Peter Eibisberger claimed ProAM honours and Herbert Karrer won Masters.

Sprint Race 2 produced another strong performance from Dream 2 Drive. German rookie Dennis Schöniger celebrated his first overall victory of the weekend, with Kajak once again fighting his way through the field to finish second. Alex Kross won the ProAM category, Nikola Petrovic topped AM and Audrius Piktys secured the Masters victory.

The “100 Miles of Hungary” brought the 2026 racing season to a fitting conclusion. Kajak completed his championship-winning weekend with an overall Endurance victory for Dream 2 Drive, ahead of teammates Nojus Gerulaitis and Dennis Schöniger. Željko Drmic and Martin Kodrić finished third for MS Racing. Pavel Bouška and Jaroslav Janis won the eProAM category, while Günter Benninger took the eMasters victory.

The Hungaroring finale also confirmed the season’s champions. Markus Kajak ends the year as Sprint Overall Champion, Endurance Overall Champion and Rookie Champion, while Mantas Janavicius claims the ProAM Sprint and Endurance titles. Tautvydas Rudokas wins the AM Sprint championship, Audrius Piktys takes the Masters Sprint title, and Piktys and Rudokas finish level at the top of the AM Endurance standings. Günter Benninger secures the Masters Endurance championship, while Dream 2 Drive concludes the season as Team Champion.
