Exciting Racing Returns to Tor Poznań
The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe continued its 2026 season at Tor Poznań, one of the most traditional racing circuits in Central Europe. Drivers and teams were greeted by cool and overcast conditions in the morning before sunshine returned in the afternoon, with temperatures rising to 22°C. Strong winds throughout the weekend added an extra challenge for the competitors.
Round 3 was held together with Porsche Poland, bringing several hundred guests to Tor Poznań and creating a great atmosphere. The event also featured a particularly strong local presence, with numerous Polish drivers and teams competing in front of their home crowd.
Matyas Faiereisl continued his outstanding form throughout the weekend. After securing both pole positions, the Czech rookie converted his pace into victories in both Sprint races before completing a flawless weekend by leading his team to victory in the Endurance race. His consistent performance further strengthened his championship campaign.
Race 1 started with a Turn 1 racing incident involving several cars. Fortunately, all drivers were unharmed, and the race resumed shortly afterwards. Faiereisl controlled the field from the front, while Mantas Janavicius once again demonstrated remarkable consistency to collect valuable championship points. Strong performances from local drivers delighted the Polish spectators throughout the weekend, with several home competitors battling for podium finishes across the various classes.
The second Sprint race again belonged to Faiereisl, who maintained his perfect qualifying conversion rate at Tor Poznań. Behind him, intense battles unfolded across all classes as every championship point became increasingly valuable heading into the second half of the season.
The weekend concluded with the one-hour Endurance race, where strategy, consistency and teamwork came into play. Faiereisl once more emerged victorious, while Dream2Drive strengthened its position in both the driver and team championships with another strong performance. Oliwer Vesin celebrated a memorable podium finish in front of his home crowd, adding another highlight for the local fans.
Class battles remained highly competitive throughout the weekend. Peter Brunner continued his impressive form in the AM category, while Audrius Piktys and Tautvydas Rudokas collected important championship points. In the Masters category, experienced competitors once again delivered close and hard-fought racing.
Following three rounds, Matyas Faiereisl now leads both the Sprint and Endurance overall standings. Mantas Janavicius remains his closest challenger in the Sprint championship, while Dream2Drive continues to lead the Team Championship ahead of Senkyr Motorsport, setting the stage for an exciting second half of the 2026 season.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe now heads into its summer break before the championship resumes at Automotodrom Grobnik in Croatia at the beginning of September, where Round 4 promises another exciting chapter in the 2026 season.
