Review: Autodrom Brno 2025

All champions crowned at great PSCCE 2025 season final at Automotodrom Brno!

What a great season final for the Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe at Automotodrom Brno! Round 5 of the 2025 season really delivered with tough and exciting racing under a blue sky on a warm late-summer day and close title decisions in the end with all the new champions being crowned!

After two days of testing to be perfectly prepared for the final race day of the year, all teams and drivers headed into qualifying on Saturday morning. Richard Gonda from Slovakia set pole position for both Sprint races. In Qualifying 1, Tomas Rudokas from Lithuania, fastest of the ProAMs, claimed P2, ahead of David Dziwok from Poland. Lithuanian Tautvydas Rudokas, not related to Tomas, by the way, was fastest in the AM category, while local hero Pavel Bouška topped the Masters class. For Race 2, Tomas Rudokas and Ivan Peklin from Ukraine formed the line-up behind Gonda, with Ramunas Grigaitis, another Lithuanian, on top of the AM category and Bouška again leading the Masters field.

Gonda then immediately took the lead in Race 1, while David Dziwok already claimed P2 during the first lap and was able to keep rather close and finished 3.3 seconds behind, also winning the ProAM class, ahead of Tomas Rudokas. Dziwok with this result also claimed the Overall and ProAM Sprint championship, ahead of Austrian Tobias Poschik. Jakub Chmiel, also from Poland, had a spin in the early part of the race but was able to return to the track and finished in P9 overall, after Marius Bartkus received a 10-second penalty following the end of the race for having pushed Piktys Audrius off track in turn 2 not long before the chequered flag.

Petr Brecka from the Czech Republic topped the AM category in P7 overall, because Tautvydas Rudokas, who had been the class leader for the whole race, made a mistake on the last lap, which dropped him far back. Pavel Bouška, also from the Czech Republic, was the winner of the Masters class, ahead of Serbian Keyser Söze.

In Race 2, Richard Gonda did it again! The Slovakian won also the second Sprint race of the season final at Brno, ahead of Ivan Peklin from Ukraine and ProAM winner Gregor Jeets from Estonia. Victory in the AM category went to Ramunas Grigaitis from Lithuania – this time it was Brecka who made a mistake on the last lap, dropping back to P3 in class also behind German Markus Sattler, but it was enough for Brecka to secure the Sprint title in his class. Pavel Bouška again was the winner of the Masters class, ahead of Austrian Günter Benninger, who claimed the Masters Sprint title.

The final race of the Porsche Sprint Challenge Central Europe 2025, the “100 Miles of Czech Republic”, saw the third victory of the day for Richard Gonda, who crossed the finish line 4 seconds ahead of Ivan Peklin. Even as the Ukrainian received a six-second penalty for starting one second too early from the pitlane into the second half of the race, he kept his position due to a lot of drama at the end of the race.

Taurus Tunyla on the last lap suffered from a technical problem, which dropped the Lithuanian and his Estonian partner Gregor Jeets back to P5. So, P3 overall together with the win in the ProAM class went to Marius Bartkus and Grantas Kareckas from Lithuania, even with Bartkus having had a spin earlier in the race, but being able to recover from it. With these 20 points Bartkus surpassed Tunyla/Jeets by one point in the final moments of the Endurance championship and with 93 points secured the overall title for him, as well as the ProAM championship.

Victory in the AM and the Masters category went to Czech local heroes Petr Brecka/Karel Neffe, with Brecka claiming the AM Endurance title, and Pavel Bouška respectively. Günter Benninger, a well-known face in the PSCCE, was still classified in P2 in the Masters category and after the Sprint also claimed the Endurance title in this class.
